*E M P Honeymoon* by Dorothy May Mercer is a captivating narrative that plunges readers into a gripping adventure from the very start. The story centers on Kelly McBride and her husband, Tom Turbulo, whose honeymoon in Honduras is unexpectedly interrupted by a terrorist plot. While exploring a local souvenir shop, Kelly uncovers suspicious activities that hint at a grander scheme. Her curiosity leads her and Tom into a transformative operation that could change the fate of their nation.

As the plot unfolds, Kelly and Tom team up with a group of dedicated individuals, including Kelly’s brother, a U.S. senator, and CIA Special Agent Steve Spalding. They undertake a mission to thwart the terrorists' plan to unleash an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack on the United States. The novel’s fast-paced narrative keeps readers on edge, blending action, romance, and suspense. Dorothy May Mercer skillfully depicts the urgency and danger of the mission, making each chapter a page-turner.

One standout feature of this book is the well-developed characters. I was particularly impressed by Kelly's quick thinking and bravery, which proved crucial in overcoming the dangers they faced. Tom’s experience as a law enforcement officer provided a steady counterbalance to Kelly’s impulsive behavior. The supporting characters, including the tech-savvy CIA agent and the steadfast bodyguards, added depth to the story and made the team’s efforts more credible.

There is nothing I found to dislike about this book. The seamless integration of romance and action, along with engaging dialogue and realistic scenarios, made for an enjoyable read. The novel’s exploration of contemporary issues, such as cybersecurity threats and international terrorism, added relevance that enhanced its overall impact. The use of military and technical jargon was handled deftly, making the complex subject matter accessible without oversimplification.

The book was edited flawlessly, and I did not encounter any errors throughout my reading. This level of editorial excellence contributed significantly to the smooth flow of the story. I rate *E M P Honeymoon* 5 out of 5 stars for its gripping plot, well-developed characters, and the perfect blend of romance and action. I highly recommend this book to readers who appreciate thrillers with a hint of romance, as well as those interested in espionage and national security themes.
