[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Priest" by Al Dawson.]
Sometimes, people go to extremes to achieve their goals. They do this without considering the impacts of their actions on other people. Priest by Al Dawson is a mystery and suspense thriller that takes us through the journey of how far people can go to amass wealth and take advantage of innocent people, all for their personal gains.
Faith McGuire was a lawyer working with a firm that advocates for victims of sexual abuse. When she came across the case of sexual abuse by Father Joseph Blasko, she knew something was off. After reading through his diaries, she was convinced that they were dealing with something way bigger than sexual assault. Alongside her formidable team of her private investigator, brother, and friend, they were able to uncover huge secrets that would rock so many boats and put so many lives at risk. What was even more shocking were the people involved in the secrets.
This book was an absolutely amazing read. I loved the element of surprise and suspense, which kept me going till the end. The characters were well-developed and so real that I could feel the weight of their burdens. Even more weighty and emotional were the victims, who had to live with the pain and hurt for the rest of their lives. The book was beautifully put together, and I loved how, in the end, the whole story fell into place like a perfect puzzle. It was truly an amazing read.
There was nothing to dislike about the book. It was beautifully crafted and written to perfection. The story was captivating, intriguing, and soulful. I found only one small grammatical error that could be overlooked, and this error did not taint my reading experience in any way. The book used profane words very sparingly, which enhanced my reading experience. The story was written in a clear and concise way, with no ambiguity, which made it an easily understandable read. It was a really good read.
I rate this book five out of five stars for its brilliant and beautifully crafted story. The book was professionally edited, although I found a little grammatical error while reading it, which could have been an oversight. I totally recommend this book to individuals looking for a good mystery and suspense thriller. I also wholeheartedly recommend it to readers looking for a crime novel that will keep them glued to the end. This is a very impressive read.
