Review of E M P Honeymoon
[Following is a volunteer review of "E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer.]
Dorothy May Mercer’s “E M P Honeymoon: Kelly and Tom” sees Kelly and Tom Turbulo, newlyweds, have their ideal vacation in Honduras marred by a dangerous cyber-terrorism scheme. When at the Barefoot Sands Resort, Kelly accidentally comes across a high-tech lab that has plans for an electromagnetic pulse attack causing all electronic devices to go off worldwide. As a result of this discovery, the couple becomes embroiled in an intricate conspiracy involving Dear Leader and his associate General Lee. To prevent the catastrophe that is about to happen, Kelly’s sibling Senator Mike McBride and Lt. Flash Gordon from the Space Force team up. The fast-paced action novel blends romance, suspense, and humor, making it suitable for teenagers to adults, as the heroes race against time to avert a national security crisis.
Its tough female protagonist and fast-moving storyline made me fall in love with “E M P Honeymoon." She is shown as clever and brave and plays a key part in revealing the terrorist plot. Her determination and presence of mind are clear when she uncovers a modern laboratory behind the resort’s shop, thus making her character truly inspirational. From start to finish, it is hard to put down because it moves quickly. For instance, immediately after their honeymoon ends, there is an urgent need to thwart terrorists, resulting in a thrilling dynamic narrative. I was hooked by the constant action and the way the plot unfolded, making it impossible to put the book down. It’s a captivating read that combines suspense and excitement perfectly.
I will rate “E M P Honeymoon: Kelly and Tom” 5 out of 5 stars. I love the strong female protagonist, Kelly, who is resourceful and courageous, and the fast-paced plot that kept me engaged from start to finish. There’s nothing I could dislike about this book. I highly recommend it to readers who enjoy thrilling action novels with strong, dynamic characters and relentless suspense. It’s an absolute must-read! This book was exceptionally edited.
