Review of Death Never Sleeps
Can two people born and raised in the same home be completely different? The answer is yes. While Alex Nicholas built a career as a loan shark and a bookie, his brother Michael was a direct contrast; he was in the corporate world and wanted no part of his brother’s enterprise. One day while sitting at Grimaldi’s with Maria, the woman he sold the restaurant to, he was shot by a young man, who was eventually put down by the numerous cops hanging around the restaurant. With the young man dead and no real lead as to who sent him, Michael has to figure out who killed his brother. Without knowledge as to how his brother's business works, what will Michael do? Will he find his brother's killer? Will he take over the business? To find out more, read a copy of the book Death Never Sleeps by E.J. Simon.
What I loved about this book was how detailed it was. The author did a remarkable job describing the scenes; it felt like I was watching an action movie. From the moment Alex died, I knew that everything would be a rollercoaster—there were so many deaths, and everyone seemed to have an ulterior motive, which made the book suspenseful from beginning to end. My favorite character in the book is Michael. Even though he initially didn't know anything about his brother's business, he tried to settle his brother's debt to Sharkey to protect the people he loved and his brother's business associates.
The inclusion of artificial intelligence was another aspect of the book that I loved. I was curious to find out what Alex was so excited to tell his brother about just before his death, and I can assure you, I wasn't disappointed.
There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this book—it was professionally well edited; I found only one error, so I rate it 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to lovers of fiction and people who appreciate themes of artificial intelligence.
