How would you feel if you woke up one day and the future you had been looking forward to living had already been lived? John Gowan was 48 years old and an architect with a family and a daughter; however, his marriage was not working. He and his friend, Pete Williams, set up a firm not long after college and named it Gowan Partnerships because John brought the money that started the business. One morning brought sad news. There was an explosion at the Zenith Star Holdings plc building, which claimed the lives of many people. With the building destroyed, a contract would be opened for a new building. John knew that a big-shot company would be chosen for this new contract. But it didn't hurt to dream that his company would be chosen. He imagined being the one to design the new Zenith building.

One day, he went to check out the Zenith building ruins and had an accident on his way back. When he woke up in the hospital, he found out that he was three and a half years in the future, where he had already designed the new Zenith building. His designs were accepted, and construction had begun. However, he couldn't remember doing that. How will his loss of memory affect the project? Get a copy of The Freedom Building by Martin Kendall to find out.

I love that this book has an interesting plot and storyline. People started calling the new Zenith building the "Freedom Building" because of the innovative quality of the design and because it was made from ashes after being destroyed by terrorists. But when an architect explains the motivation behind his designs, will people feel the same way about the building? This book has themes of architecture, terrorism, betrayal, and politics. The book wasn't merciful on my nerves because I was fuming at some of the characters. For them to get on my nerves like that, I commend Martin Kendall for developing them well. It's such a pity how people you call your allies will work against you when they stand to gain something more. I saw Pete as John's friend and business partner, but when John was suffering from amnesia, a lot showed about Pete.

This book also made me reflect on the importance of priorities and good relationships. I don't think that any man should be an island. Even if it is crazy at work, one should always make sure that home is better. Unforeseen situations will make you see the importance of family. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because I disliked nothing about it. It was professionally edited, and I recommend it to those who like reading thrillers and mystery books.
