E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer is an engaging science fiction novel that mixes suspense, action, and a touch of romance. The story centers on newlyweds Tom and Kelly, who find themselves in the middle of a dangerous plot during their honeymoon in Honduras. What begins as a peaceful vacation quickly turns into a high-stakes mission when Kelly stumbles upon a hidden lab connected to a terrorist plan to launch an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) attack on the United States.

While shopping in a quaint toy store, Kelly stumbles upon a hidden room filled with high-tech equipment. Curious, she explores further and discovers that the store is a front for a secret terrorist operation planning an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) attack on the United States. When Kelly is caught by a member of the terrorist group, she narrowly escapes and quickly alerts Tom. Together, they decide to investigate further, leading them to a shocking revelation about the impending attack.

Mercer does an excellent job of making complex scientific concepts easy to understand, allowing readers to follow the story without getting lost in technical details. The characters, especially Tom and Kelly, are well-developed and relatable. Their sense of duty to their country is a key theme, as they chose to put their honeymoon on hold to prevent a national disaster.

The plot is filled with unexpected twists, keeping readers hooked from start to finish. The pacing is well-balanced, with each chapter building on the last, making it hard to stop reading. The inclusion of characters from previous books in the McBride series adds depth to the story, but even new readers can enjoy this book as a stand-alone.

I have nothing to dislike about this book. E M P Honeymoon is well edited and contains no errors. It's a thoroughly enjoyable novel that combines thrilling action with thoughtful exploration of important issues like national security and the dangers of advanced technology. I highly recommend it to readers who enjoy fast-paced thrillers with a scientific twist. This book earns a well-deserved 5 out of 5 stars for its gripping storyline and strong character development.
