Kelly and Tom's romantic getaway in Honduras takes a dramatic turn when a chance discovery at a tourist spot sets off a chain reaction of unexpected events. Kelly's curiosity and concern for her safety led her to seek help from her brother, Senator Mike McBride, who soon finds himself over his head. As the situation spirals out of control, Mike turns to his CIA contact, Assistant Director Joseph Rench, for support. With each new revelation, the danger escalates, and the Turbulos' dream honeymoon becomes a desperate fight for survival.

Introducing a foreign government adds a layer of intricacy to the plot, making the escalating events both unnerving and believable. The well-crafted characters bring a sense of familiarity to the story. At the same time, Mercer masterfully incorporates mundane details—such as a character struggling with the sweltering Honduran climate—into the narrative, lending it a sense of realism. The use of clear chapter sub-headings ensures a seamless reading experience, providing clarity and continuity as the events unfold.

Anticipating potential difficulties for her readers, author Dorothy May Mercer considerately includes a comprehensive primer in Chapter 2. This helpful explanation clarifies complex topics such as international relations, nuclear conflict, missile defense systems, and electromagnetic pulses (EMPs), ensuring readers are well-equipped to navigate the narrative. Mercer's thoughtful approach demonstrates her empathy and commitment to her readers' understanding.

I highly recommend E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer, awarding it a flawless 5 out of 5 stars. This exceptional novel boasts impeccable editing, masterful writing, and a gripping narrative filled with intense action and heart-pounding suspense. The presence of strong, patriotic female leads adds a compelling layer to the story. I was thoroughly enthralled by the book's pulse-racing moments, and I couldn't find a single aspect to criticize. Mercer's work is a true masterpiece, and I like everything about this book.

Action-packed adventure seekers and romance enthusiasts will love this book! The author masterfully combines heart-pumping action sequences with a suspenseful narrative, crafting a seamless and captivating reading experience. I highly recommend this thrilling page-turner, which expertly balances excitement and romance, making it truly an unforgettable read.
