In ”Soul Seeker,” Kaylin McFarren crafts a supernatural thriller that explores themes of morality, loyalty, and the eternal struggle between good and evil. The narrative unfolds in two distinct parts, each offering a unique perspective. The first part follows Benjamin Poe, a firefighter who becomes embroiled in a tragic and mysterious situation involving his son Gabriel. Poe grapples with suspicions of supernatural influence, stirring deep questions about the lengths one might go to protect family.

The second part shifts to Crighton, a demon tasked with capturing souls, including an angel named Ariel. This section delves into themes of captivity, tough choices, and a developing romance between Ariel and Crighton. The intertwining narratives enrich the story, blending elements of horror, romance, and fantasy to engage readers in a gripping supernatural experience.

I particularly like how the book’s captivating plot seamlessly merges supernatural elements with profound emotional depth. Crighton’s transformation from a cold-hearted demon to a remorseful character adds significant depth to the story. The vivid portrayal of the demonic realm and the well-developed backstories of characters like Crighton, Acadia, and Lilith enhance the narrative, providing a rich understanding of their motivations. Themes such as love and sacrifice are poignantly explored, adding a touching layer to the thriller.

I found nothing to dislike in this book. The narrative is perfectly executed, with a compelling plot and richly developed characters that enhance the reading experience. The book’s professional editing is apparent, as I encountered no errors that impacted the enjoyment of the story.

I’d rate this book a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. Its dark, atmospheric setting combined with deep emotional layers makes it a memorable read. I highly recommend it to fans of mystery, thrillers, fantasy, and supernatural fiction, as well as readers interested in stories that explore human emotions in extraordinary contexts.
