Review of Love And Murder
Love and Murder by Dr. Irv Arenberg can be rightfully termed an enthralling exploration of the convergence of love, criminals, and psychological aspects. Consisting of crime, thriller, mystery, and horror (C/T/M/H), the story is definitely enthralling from the start to the end since it uses elements of drama, and this captivates the readers.Through his background in medicine and psychology, Dr. Arenberg is able to understand and elaborate on the dark side of human beings through fascinating stories. His characters stand out thanks to the deep psychological waters in which they move, which enhances both the suspense and the unpredictability of the book’s plot.
The plot follows a chain of murders that always seem to attract the protagonist into their gist, always with shocking revelations. It is not every story that captures the reader’s attention through suspense. This is one of the strongest segments of the novel since Dr. Arenberg does excellent work in striking the balance between love and violence within the story. The above scenes also play a role in including romance in the story, though it is not without its complications. The violence includes the love, betrayal, and revenge elements, making the crime even more interesting rather than simple and boring.
Nonetheless, although the novel has gained much praise for its capacity to create suspense and fully develop the characters, there are still instances where the slow and the fast pacing of the novel are, well, just a bit slow. Some readers may even find some parts rather leisurely; the rhythm is too quick, which most likely would cause the plot to stagnate and dip that aggression which one normally anticipates from a good crime/thriller/mystery/horror (C/T/M/H) story. Moreover, the feedback for character development perspective is also unfavorable. Many characters are simply flat or have many clichés associated with them, yet these are just details of an artfully constructed story.
What I like the most in the book is especially the perspective Arenberg has about the lives of his characters in their deepest and darkest extent. The way he puts in each of those psychological factors and blends them in with the suspense-filled thriller is amazing. The writer has managed to combine thrilling elements with elements that show true understanding of the mindset of the particular characters, and that is why I am giving the book straight 5 out of 5 stars. This book does not only stand out in the crime thriller category just because of all the murderous action but also all the psychological drama that comes along with it that one just cannot stop commuting praises to.I recommend this book to readers who appreciate going through psychological thrillers and crime dramas stating the combination of suspense and emotions.
