"EMP Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer introduces readers to Kelly McBride and Tom Turbolo, who go on their honeymoon in Honduras. Kelly accidentally stumbles upon a beachside gift shop filled with suspicious items as she explores. This event triggers a chain of events that leads to Tom and Kelly becoming targets. They suspect terrorism may be involved as their honeymoon turns into a tumultuous affair. The story delves into dangers, a love story, and a looming national crisis. The plot includes political elements, agencies, and special forces, as well as elements like love and the fight against enemies.

The story starts with Kelly, who, while on her honeymoon in Honduras, stumbles into a suspicious lab posing as a shop. She discovers maps and power grids and quickly realizes she’s in danger. As she tries to escape and report her findings, she becomes the target of the group running the lab. The plot then progresses through a display of how Kelly and her comrades move around to try and prevent a satellite carrying a nuclear warhead from bombing the US while at the same time trying to escape. Mercer’s writing gives a clear perception of how things work behind the scenes in the White House, and that is why it is real. The experience of building the story around the heroes’ activities against their opponents can be considered brilliant.

What I loved most about this book was how vividly the author brought the events to life. I could easily imagine Tom, Kelly, and the rest of the team in action. Dorothy May Mercer didn’t skimp on details, which made it even more captivating. Despite the straightforward storyline, the book's action and suspense kept the reader captivated. Kelly and Tom felt like real people, and the detailed explanations of the science and military aspects added an intriguing layer to the story. I found nothing to dislike about this book. It was exceptionally well edited.

I recommend this book to both newlyweds and long-married couples, as it offers useful insights on how to avoid or handle challenges in a relationship. It’s also a great read for anyone who enjoys suspenseful, thrilling, and action-packed stories. I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.
