Breakfast at Timothy’s by Richard Tyler Jordan is a lighthearted romance/mystery that follows the employment of Timothy Trousdale at the prestigious casting agency, Muriel Maynard Management, as a live-in personal assistant. He finds himself thrust into the life of show biz, living in the palatial penthouse of his all-time favorite movie star, and meeting A-listers regularly. His new life is not all glamourous while he juggles a mountain of tasks with little direction and a demanding, hard-to-please boss who takes every opportunity to remind Timothy of how much of a failure he is. Through it all, Timothy makes lasting friendships and finds true love.

As he navigates his new way of life, he finds himself in the middle of a murder mystery after his boss is found dead. Everyone that Timothy has met during his brief employment is a possible suspect with plausible motives to kill his well-hated boss. The closer he gets to the truth, the more dangerous his job becomes. Timothy must figure out who killed his boss before he too is murdered - or fired.

Breakfast at Timothy’s was funny, witty, and an all-around delightful read. The author explored the themes of love, friendship, identity, and personal development. The main character, Timothy, is well-developed and his naivety is charming and humorous. The supporting cast was also multi-dimensional and added fun and entertainment to the plot.

I rate Breakfast at Timothy’s 4 out of 5 stars. The story was engaging and even-paced and the characters were likable. I enjoyed the story’s simplicity and felt the author provided great descriptions. In my opinion, the ending was rushed which prevented me from giving a full 5 stars.

All in all, I enjoyed this book. The plot was interesting, and the characters were likable. Profanity was also minimal. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries or lighthearted beach-reads.

Romance is not my thing but the lighthearted story with a murder mystery after Timothy's boss is found dead. Despite the rushed ending, the plot with its humor makes it engaging. Thank you for your great review!
