Baby Meredith, an eighteen-month-old girl, has been missing for six weeks. Nobody knows her whereabouts. Mabel Gentry, Baby Meredith's mother, is inconsolable. Another tragedy looms. The Gentry family will never remain the same.

So many years later, Gentry Farm is still full of dark energy and gloom. This has led to this home being sold over and over again. Recently, John and Emma Tyler, a newlywed couple, bought it. They are so excited about the achievement and hope to have a wonderful time there. Time will tell if their expectations will only end as wishes.

Cotton Mathers has done a great job with this work. I liked the suspense woven into the narrative. There are a couple of revelations I needed answers to. Even at this, my attention was divided between Baby Meredith, Mabel, John, and Emma. For Baby Meredith, I wondered what could have happened to her. The fact that the combined search groups could not gain a clue about her whereabouts made me suspect that this act must have been highly coordinated. The truth about the whole thing took me unawares. I was dumbfounded. For Mabel, I was worried over her traumatized spirit. I felt pity for John and Emma and doubted if they would be able to unravel the mystery surrounding Gentry Farm.

The story contains scary apparitions, dreams, plot twists, suspicious footsteps, and communication with a dead spirit, which I believe will interest lovers of horror, crime, and mystery. Those looking for just a great story will also find this literature impressive. The story explores the theme of a mother's love and the fragility of the human mind under substance abuse. This was a short read, and it made my evening. It excited my imagination. It got me continually guessing while looking for answers, and when the aha moment came, I couldn't ask for more.

I didn't dislike anything in this book. The text was thoroughly proofread. Mabel by Cotton Mathers earns 5 out of 5 stars for the impressive narrative and the lessons it teaches.

This novel mixes very human issues with horror drama using some classic tropes of that genre in a story with twists and food for thought at the same time. Thank you for your great review!
