Looking for Series Recommendations

Post by Meghan Greenleaf »

If I had to pick a favorite genre it would be mystery. I've been working my way through the Sue Grafton alphabet series, Elizabeth George Inspector Lynley series, and Robert Gailbraith Cormoron Strike series. Sadly, I'm nearing the end of all of them. Based on these, does anyone have any recommendations for another series for me to try?

If you’re looking for a series with paranormal elements, mystery, romance, and a strong female lead, I highly recommend Mercy Thompson by Patricia Briggs. Mercy is a unique and refreshing character—a Volkswagen mechanic who also happens to be a walker, a magical being capable of shifting into a coyote at will.

The world she inhabits is full of supernatural intrigue. Her neighbor is a werewolf Alpha, her old boss is a gremlin, and she’s repairing a bus for a vampire. It’s a lot to handle, and it constantly pulls her into trouble, but Mercy’s resourcefulness and no-nonsense attitude make her a compelling and relatable protagonist.

This series blends urban fantasy with a touch of romance, set in a world teeming with fae, vampires, and werewolves. It’s fast-paced, smart, and full of heart, making it perfect if you enjoy stories that mix action, mystery, and romance seamlessly. Definitely worth checking out!
