Review of Caveat Games

In this intriguing novel, we see patriotism, blackmail, greed, and power in America come into play in the simple lives of Jill and Ross. This couple tries to defy the evil plans of David Choi, despite the odds being against them, but life is unfair, and most times bad things happen to good people; sometimes good people have to suffer for their good deeds too. As you read this page-turner, you can only hope that the case is different for this couple that has chosen patriotism over greed. Jill, a Navy lieutenant, and Ross, a stockbroker, have a role to play in David’s Choi master plan, and they don’t get to say no to this multi billionaire, but what if they do? What’s the worst that could happen? You’ll have to read the book to find out.
Reading this book was a delight for me. Although the book started with a slow pace as the author took us through the day-to-day activities of Jill on the Admiral De Grasse, the life of Terry Jackson as a quarterback, and Ross as a stockbroker and member of a band, it picked up to a fast pace eventually as we saw crime and intriguing activities that make you question the genuineness of every character. And it only got better with each chapter. The intrigue and suspense in the book were top-notch, as I couldn’t guess what was to come at any time. The book was not the typical good guy and bad guy rumble, but it was also enlightening as I learned more about the Navy after reading this book; the author did a meticulous job in handling that part of the book. I also learned about explosives and got a sneak peek into the world of different government agencies. I loved how the author portrayed friendship and loyalty side by side with enmity and betrayal. The author did a great job in the arrangement of the plot, clarifying all the plot scenarios, not leaving readers questioning any part of the book. The best part of the book for me, however, was how the author kept me at the edge of my seat, still guessing the fate of David Choi down to the last page. It was brilliant, and it kept me glued to the book to the end.
I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The book was well edited with only a few errors, and I enjoyed every page, as mentioned earlier, save for the fact that it started at a really slow pace, which may have gotten me not to go further in reading the book due to how slow and tedious the first chapters were. However, this book still gets all the credit it deserves.
"Caveat Games" by Michael Wegman would really soothe lovers of crime fiction and anyone who loves suspense.
