EMP Honeymoon was a fun ride! This story takes you on a journey to Honduras, where honeymooning couple Kellie and Tom accidentally stumble upon a secret laboratory in a mysterious gift shop. Soon, because they cannot leave well enough alone, they face a warhead and the soldiers that are sent to launch it.
The soldiers, sent by Dear Leader, are only one of the teams enabling a warhead to be launched towards the United States.
With the help of some friends from the United States who drop everything to come help, Kellie and Tom encounter a strange man who ends up being on their side! There are some twists and turns to keep you on your toes, but the five of them pull some big strings to help save the United States. Every branch of the military and government works together to get the job done.
Make sure to read this book as it is really fun! Dorothy May Mercer gave us characters that we care about without having to know every bit of the backstory. This is part of a series of books about the same characters, so I am going to check them out to get that backstory.
All of the characters are believable and do believable things. I feel like they could all be my friends at some point. The villains were just scary enough and just silly enough to keep me interested. This story did not need a "will they or won't they" premise. No need for foul language or sexual content. This was a good old-fashioned saving the world story.
I look forward to reading more of Mercer's well-thought-out stories.
EMP Honeymoon was above average of all the books I have read. I gave the book a five stars; the book was edited well. I would definitely recommend it.
