The Date Farm, an action packed crime fiction sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. I am choosy when it comes to my crime fictions and this definitely did not disappoint!
Lara and Uri are two newlywed and extremely skilled FBI agents on a well deserved holiday at Lara's parents' farm. However, they are soon interrupted by an urgent call throwing them headfirst into an intense fight against an unknown force set on causing large amounts of fatalities to get what they want while every crime fighting organization in the US are scrambling to stop them. With their skill, experience, and impeccable synchronization, Lara and Uri rush into the fight but can they find who this enemy is and what they're after with virtually nothing to go off of? Find out in The Date Farm by Jack Winnick.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good no -fluff, action-packed crime fiction. I have seen other reviews where people dislike the lack of romance between Lara and Uri, however I quite enjoyed the level the author included. They weren't robots, they still had emotion, the author wrote scenes where Uri demonstrated his protectiveness and affection for Lara and where Lara showed her quieter but just as strong affection and protective side. Their affection showed they knew their job was serious, but they weren't above sneaking a kiss or a cuddle in bed but the book is a crime fiction not a romance novel and the author took that seriously in the best way. That said, there were no descriptions of sex for those who may be sensitive to those. Cursing was also essentially non existent as were major distractions. I have not read other books in this series yet I did not feel like I was lacking context and could enjoy this book by itself.
I definitely give this book a 4/4 and 5/5 and am very excited to read other books in this series. Kudos to Jack Winnick!
