Reading Concealed by Dan W. Roberts was a unique experience for me. Although the compelling plot tempted me to rapidly read through the whole book, I found myself putting the book aside. I wanted to digest the details and experience the emotions. Finally, I reluctantly read the last few pages. Even though the end was satisfying, I was sorry that the story had ended. Based on the concept of the Trojan horse, the tale follows a pilot, Ash, who is seeking revenge against the USA for the accidental death of his family. The precision of his plan makes this adventure seem credible and terrifying.

Roberts did an excellent job introducing the cast of characters. I appreciated the seamless transitions between scenes as the narrative shifted locations leading to the climax. My favorite characters were the heroes, Alex and Jake. I enjoyed the way their solid relationship was portrayed. Their humorous exchanges created a sense of reality. My least favorite person was Nazira, but I am sure the author intended her character to be a despicable and calculating villain.

Revenge is the strongest theme presented, and it opens the moral discussion of when retaliation is justified. It is easy to be sympathetic with Ash, the protagonist, as he searches for a sense of peace. Ash is driven by his goal and willing to die for his cause. Because the details are so vividly described, it is easy to believe that Ash's operation is possible. These technical passages, however, were sometimes too much for me to comprehend. They did create a sense of authenticity, so I would not consider it an actual negative.

I recommend this book to readers who enjoy an action-packed thriller dealing with aviation and weapons of mass destruction. Readers who like a touch of romance added to their reading will also be pleased with this book. I found no reason to deduct any points, so my rating is five out of five stars. There are several books with the title Concealed, so be sure that you look for the one by Dan W. Roberts.

I like the dynamic between the characters, particularly Alex and Jake; they seem to add a nice touch of humanity to the intense plot. from your review, the book sounds so much like a gripping thriller with a strong sense of realism, especially with its technical details and the theme of revenge. I definitely would be considering it.

It is sad that Ash had to lose his family and is seeking revenge against the USA and the fact that his plan is terrifying makes me want to know how all this ends for him.

Basic emotions are the strongest, so a revenge plot can be extremely intense and this story seems well-developed despite the presence of "technobabble" that can be problematic to people who aren't familiar with the jargon. Thank you for your great review!

The plot sounds intense and emotionally charged, with a mix of action, revenge, and deep moral questions. The characters, especially the heroes, seem well-developed, and it’s interesting how the story balances thrilling action with a more personal, introspective journey.
