"The Attunist" by Gary B. Haley is book three of the trilogy about a man who desires to make the world a better place, free from terrorists, drug traffickers, and child molesters, among other societal ills. He uses his special powers to carry out this "good work." However, he is on the run as he is wanted as a serial killer by the FBI. His life in hiding becomes blown after he is recognized by his former partner and reported to Special Agent Carla, his former lover. On the one hand, he is torn between avoiding being found and arrested or going about doing his 'good deeds' of eliminating drug dealers and child molesters while he risks being caught, and on the other hand, Carla is caught between protecting the man she loves and acting professionally by turning him in.

I love how the latter part of the foreword in the book contains a summary of the prequels, which is sufficient to help any reader who has not read the prequels before reading this book. Then the description and level of imagery employed in the book are top-notch. For example, the image created in describing hunger with the convincing impersonation of a large creaking door created beautiful images in my mind. The fact that the book contains the author's thoughts at the beginning and at the end of the book and also contains the meetings of the protagonist with the author makes it more fascinating and unique.

If there are any issues with this book, it will be the fact that certain non-English words were not interpreted. This might affect potential readers who are unfamiliar with these words. But I will rate this book five out of five stars still. My reason is because of the positives I mentioned already. I did not notice any errors in this book. This is a must-read for all lovers of adventure.
