Jim Nicklin’s U is a great mystery. The author's story is a vast canvas with layers of contextual plots filled with varied characters. The plot is crisp and thrilling, with many subtle to gigantic twists. It concocts a captivating transition and an entertaining flow in the protagonist's life. The reader gets hooked through the enticing characters and the premise.

The protagonist, Rachel, tries to comprehend and lift the spirits of her gloomy husband over his revelation of a sad life. Rachel’s twin sister, Lizzy, is a vibrant companion to her. They are each other's favorites, and they complement each other. Their twin connection is apparent, and a proven success in their case.

The lull in Rachel’s life constantly pinches her to explore more, but she equally loves her profession. This scenario of making a difficult and impossible choice had been looming in her life for a while now. As if her conscience had communicated her debilitated and delusional condition to the universe, her life bent in a new direction, taking her on a path of self-discovery. She is a distinguished chemist at a pharma company, working on many ambitious projects. While continuing to complete her research on more commercial products, her passion for working on humanitarian drugs became more intense. The journey through the initial struggle for her dream research is quite thrilling to read about.

Little did she know that the paradise she yearned for was also seeking her. Yet her mysterious journey toward this paradise takes a larger chunk of effort on her part. She toils for many months tirelessly and incessantly. But nobody knows the fate of her efforts, and even if it could be a success. Does she find a fitting reward and satisfaction after the ordeal she undertakes? Does she gain any rewards for her research?

Positive and negative aspects:
The book is one of the best in its genre. There are instances filled with intense drama and thrill. The book flows gradually toward a point where Rachel is at an interesting crossroads. Rachel thrives on her sense of cultural connection, deriving meaning from her grueling scientific research and life. Her character reckons the features of a coming-to-life story, which is quite entertaining to read. The author creates a remarkable paradox in Rachel’s and Massey’s lives. Even they didn't know if Rachel or Massey were being absolved of their aloof, conjured lives. The author has successfully created a thrilling plot. It entices the reader and makes the story intense. I found the pace of the book fast and engaging. There are a few errors in the book. Besides this, I have nothing negative to report about the book. As per the Book Club's guidelines for reporting errors while rating, I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this book to fans of thriller stories with an emotional undertone.
