Sarah, while on a trip, is lured and kidnapped by human traffickers who promise to pay her five thousand dollars for a beachwear photo shoot. She didn't notice any red flags from the Instagram account they used to contact her since they had seemed professional with a legitimate website. After her Kidnapping, Jim Spencer,  Sarah's grandfather, contacts his old friend Rob Anderson and requests him to save his granddaughter.  Rob Anderson, therefore, puts together a team of his old pals who were once part of a special force and a very daring Israeli lady called Sophia. Together,  they embark on a mission to save Sarah. To find out more, get your copy of the book Darker Than You Know by Edward Minyard.

I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars for the reasons stated below.

I purchased the audible version of this book, and I might as well say it was the best decision I ever made in my history of reading books.  Kudos to the narrator for the excellent narration. This is because the narrator employed very magnificent tactics while narrating the book. They changed their voice when narrating the different parts for each character, and their voice even displayed the characters' emotions. Not only that,  but the narrations were so detailed that I felt like I was watching it on TV and not listening to the audio version of the book. An example of the part with detailed and vivid narration was the part when the helicopter crashed during Alejandro Vega's capture.

Another commendable aspect of this book is that the author used storytelling to share and open people's eyes to a very sensitive and cruel thing in society. Human trafficking is the major theme in this book, and the author's aim is to shed light on how different dark organizations lure people into it. In the book, we witness how Sarah is lured and kidnapped by human traffickers. There are thousands of other victims besides her who are lured through social media and other platforms. This acts as an eye-opener to the reader, and personally,  I was quite shocked at some of the things these traffickers do to lure their victims. Some traffickers even promise their victims scholarships, entry into huge football clubs and funding for their organizations, among other things. Most people become victims because these traffickers present themselves as legitimate organizations, only for the victims to realize that they are a complete sham when it's too late. I dearly thank the author for bringing this to light using a very action-packed story.

Another positive aspect of this book is that it was action-packed with very lovable characters. My favourite character was Sophia Livshin. I admired how she was practically good at everything and also very tech-savvy. The way she helped bring Geraldo Gomez and his entire organization down was admirable.

I have nothing negative to say about this book, so I won't be deducting any stars. I didn't notice any grammar or speech errors while listening to the audiobook, which made me believe it was perfectly narrated. I recommend it to anyone interested in action-packed stories about human trafficking.
