Review of Duty Honor and Treason

The book begins with a baby boy being inducted into the Council of the Sons of Liberty. That baby boy was Arnold Schulle, who got his tattoo with the initials CSL at eighteen. Only direct dependents of the signers of the Declaration of Independence could become members. This was a very prestigious and elite club.
On January 18, 2026, at 9:15 pm, a massive explosion leveled the U.S. House of Representatives while the President gave his State of the Union speech. It was so enormous that everyone was killed, and buildings all around for miles were damaged, with windows shattered and layers of dust formed upon them. The explosion's crater was seventy feet deep and one-eighth of a mile wide. There were no longer any House of Representatives, Congress, Cabinet members, Speaker of the House, Vice President, or President. No one was left except for one person who decided to sit out of the event that night. That was Sandra Gusman, who was the Secretary of Urban Development. She was now the President of the United States.
Who could have done such a thing? Were they terrorists from another country? Were the perpetrators from here in our country? What happens next? We have a president, but no one else. Do we pick people, or do we have to hold elections again? No one knew because this had never happened before. Where does Arnold Schulle come into the story? Read the book to find out what was to be done and if they found out who was responsible for this atrocity.
Duty, Honor, and Treason by Gordon Marxer is an exciting and action-packed piece of fictional work that will have you reading until all hours of the night. The author did a magnificent job developing the characters and the surrounding backdrop, Washington, D.C. His writing was easy to comprehend, and you could separate the characters. The character of the FBI detective, Pete Tarkanian, was a work of art. You believe in this man and know that he will solve this crime.
I cannot explain how much I liked this book. There was absolutely nothing to dislike. You were not only fascinated by the storyline, but it also made you think about what would happen if that incident were ever to happen. The book was professionally edited, as I only found a few errors. I am pleased to rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. This book is suited for adults, as it has a lot of violence and criminal activity. To enjoy this novel, you do not have to be into politics or any political party.
