The Prize was a riveting novel full of everything you need for a good crime thriller novel. From deceit to love this novel covered it all. The story comprises of two scientists at the top of their game in their profession. A deceitful and vile man Eric Prescott and an honest woman Pam Weller both on the brink of an amazing discovery definitely worth the Nobel Prize. Their means of getting there however are Worlds Apart. When somebody close to Pam and her research decides to double-cross her, Pams life Turns Upside Down, delivering blow after blow to the innocent scientist. Its now up to pam with the help of her former FBI boyfriend Jake to solve the mystery her life has become. Can they really put the pieces of her life back together and find out who’s behind this awful betrayal?

Or is pams reputation and life as she knew it destroyed forever?
Although one could argue that this novel could be predictable at times, it kept me guessing to the very end. Even being able to foreshadow some of the events did not take away from the riveting way the author weaves you through the story. She writes it in a way that makes you feel strong connections to the characters and the story. Pulling you along for an exciting ride.

It was well written and edited as I found no grammatical error, not to say that there wasn’t a single one but I was so pulled into the story that If there was any I didn’t notice them, even though I was looking. Which speaks volumes for this author and their ability to fully immerse you in another world. That’s why most of us read right? To escape to an alternate reality even for just a little while. This author definitely accomplished that for me.

It was clear they did research in the field of science to write the portions where chemistry and biology were focal points. She delivered them, however, in a way that allowed the reader to follow without bogging the story down with unnecessary science babble sure to confuse and deter a reader with none such knowledge like myself.

I would rate this story a 4 out of 4 stars and I don’t do so lightly. The author grabs and captivates you from the beginning and keeps your interest through twists and turns you don’t see coming. Even more importantly she’s able to keep your interest through those that you might foreshadow without boring you. I highly recommend reading The Prize to any of my Mystery / Thriller friends.

Thanks for the recommendation. It is wonderful to hear that the author is able to capture the attention of the reader right from the start to the end of the book with the twists and turns. The book is exciting. I am very eager to read it myself one day.
