Finding a readable friend in the book, The Mystery Of Flight 2222 by Thomas Neviaser was my long needed break. The prevailing theme in the book is karma.

In the prologue, Thomas Neviaser says, and I quote:
Nothing happens by chance or outside universal laws. Every action has a reaction and consequence, and we reap what we have sown
.

I wouldn't have agreed with him more. We are moved by karma. It dictates our lives. I compare this book with The Rime Of Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Caleridge. The Ancient Mariner suffered the same fate at sea.

Two strangers are seating side by side on flight 2222, an Airbus 330. They are none other than an athlete, six-foot-two, Frank Mason and Hellen Hampton, an ex-wife to Ricardo. She is to attend the funeral of the mother of her ex-husband, a woman that her illness had been the cause of their break up. The flight was headed to Buenos Aires in Argentina. The takeoff was at Miami.

To while off time, the two on the plane begins a game of guessing the names, ages and even occupation of seven passengers in the flight.

It is when the flight develops compressor belt failure, an action that sets the left engine causing a plunge int the ocean. Nine survivors, the two strangers and coincidentally, the seven passengers whom the two were guessing their profiles. The 52 days of nightmare begins. They brace harsh sea conditions, pirates on the high seas, thirst, sharks and many other adventurous mishaps including death.
Karma is a bitch
.

My fancy goes to how the guesses of the two on the other passengers were accurate including names. The Mystery of Flight 2222 is a classic mystery. It is the present day adventure into fairyland. The language is superb and easily understandable by the readers. You identify with the characters and feel with them.

Despite the problems of the plane, the pilot, Captain Billy Swanson, co-pilot, Joseph Crenshaw and relief pilot, Jane Hodges, keep a spirited fight. The reader is captivated by the adventures of the nine. When you come to the end of the 58,180 words, you still thirst for more. Thomas Neviaser, a retired orthopaedic, is a fine storyteller who tells his tale with passion.

As I went through the pages, I was just mesmerised to notice anything I disliked. I only wished we could be treated to more pages of this book. When I sighed with relief at the rescue of the surviving team, We were treated into more hellish drama.

I was treated to a fine tale. It was like magic unfolding before my eyes. I recommend it to all people who enjoy a fairy tale. All lovers of adventure and mystery are also recommended to read it.

I rate The mystery of flight 2222 with a 4 out of 4. Struggling to give it a 3 would have been underating the book. I feel my 4 is deserving. Hellen deserved the karma. The others too suffered a similar fate.
They were dealt a terrible blow and the survivors were left with a memory they will live with forever
.

That is my final submission of the book.
