Hello! The book I am about to review is called Pancake Money by Finn Bell.

This novel, Pancake Money, took place in New Zealand in a town called Dunedin. Bell, at the end of the novel, will go over some true pieces of the book, and which pieces are fictional, although this is a fictional story.

Finn Bell tells a story about two cops named Bobby Ress and Pollo, who work together as a team as they try to solve a murder case over a week's time. They were assigned a serial killer case that started out as priests getting brutally murdered at their church, which was in the middle of nowhere, and they had to catch the killer before he killed again. When they thought it was a well-known
Maori tribal gangster, Bobby would team up with the Manga Kahu leader, who was also a Maori, only to find out it was a person who knew the priests, someone they never expected, someone who knew how to plan, a very slick one.

This story is full of action. The characters will have you wishing you were there, especially when they are in their down time. They juggle work and family, even if it meant leaving home in the middle of the night. There were times they would go home for a few hours before heading out to investigate into the night. They would cross boundaries, even it would cost them their lives.

This story was a well written one. Bell used the days of the week instead of chapters, and times as parts of a chapter. There were no errors in the book and I give it a 4 out of 4 stars. If you like crime-drama stories that will keep you wanting more, then Pancake Money is the book for you. However, due to it being a crime story involving sex related violence, I do not recommend this to a young reader. If you do want to read it, please read at your own risk because it can give you nightmares.

I like when an author accomplishes this. Sounds like a fast-paced read. Thanks for the great review. I might just give the book a try.
