Current favorite Crime Authors

I just read Steve Hamilton's Edgar award winner "The Lock Artist" and found it fabulous. Lisa Garner is also one more classic crime writer of the recent age. Any more recommendations?

Patricia Cornwell is one of my all time favorites. I love her series about Kay Scarpetta, a chief medical examiner. Her books are very enthralling, once I start one I can't put it down. If you like reading crimes and thrillers, any Patricia Cornwell novel is a must read!

Elizabeth George can WRITE.
I started reading her on the strength of the book cover for What Came Before He Shot Her and now have the first book in the Inspector Lynley series so I can start from the beginning and see how the character develops.
I also like Keith Ablow, who unfortunately has stopped writing crime fiction, but wrote some great stuff when he did.

Johan Theorin is one of my favorites. His novels Echoes From the Dead and The Darkest Room are both pretty amazing.

C.J. Boxx He writes various book series but my favorite is the Joe Pickett series. It is about a Wyoming game warden who has a habit of finding trouble.

First I thought of Tara Moss then Kathy Reichs but I'd have to say Kate Atkinson.

I didn't realize how much crime reading I do and how many of the authors you mention are appealing to me. I also like James Lee Burke and Martha Grimes.
