Recently this month I came across a children’s book called A Day of Pride. Filled with powerful learnings about love, discrimination, family structures, sexuality, respect, tolerance, self-expression, and acceptance.

The vibrant illustrations engage young kids while the cleverly rhyming text teaches them valuable life lessons. This perfect combination beautifully encourages kids to act with compassion towards others, to embrace non-heteronormative ideas of family and love, and to feel prideful in who they are.

I loved the book and highly recommend everyone of all ages gives it a read and use the book as a tool to open discussions with the people in their lives.

I have read "The Scapegracers" by Hannah Abigail Clarke, a YA book. It revolves around a teenage lesbian witch and her coven and explores various themes such as friendships and acceptance. I loved the way the author balanced friendship and magic. It is the first of a three-book series, and I will read the other books as well. I highly recommend it.

I have read "The Scapegracers" by Hannah Abigail Clarke, a YA book. It revolves around a teenage lesbian witch and her coven and explores various themes such as friendships and acceptance. I loved the way the author balanced friendship and magic. It is the first of a three-book series, and I will read the other books as well. I highly recommend it.

I've never heard of this series, but it does sound really interesting! I'll add it to my TBR list.

I finished The First 8 by Laura Pohl and moved to the second book in the duology. It is a YA sci-fi book that revolves around eight teenagers who survived an alien attack. It contains several LGBT characters. I enjoyed it and recommend it to fans of post-apocalypse books.
