Far from the Madding Crowd

Post by revathy sw »

Do you think Bathsheba deserves Gabriel? I did not like her character at all and believe that Gabriel was too good for her. She never really seemed to learn from her mistakes. I couldn't feel a sense of guilt or shame from her for her thoughtless and arrogant actions. Rather, all I felt was a sense of defeat because of a bruised ego. Also, it seemed like she settled for a life with Gabriel because she had no one else to turn to.
What do you think? Are Gabriel and Bathsheba a good couple?
Just an average book-lover bumbling through life :tiphat:
