A Picture of Dorian Gray

I adore the Picture of Dorian Grey. It was so visceral at times, & so raw. I especially liked the one chapter where Dorian Grey is describing all of the decadent objects & services he gets that no longer bring him joy. Jewels & perfumes & food from the most exotic of places. The amount of research that had to go into it is astounding, especially knowing that all of that research was carried out without the use of the internet. It made me realise just how much we take for granted having google always at our finger tips, & just how much dedication writers in the old days had for their craft

It was mind-blowing how many viewpoints and perspectives it opened my head to as a student of literature! I intended to read it again because perhaps there were more undiscovered secrets there.

This was one of the first books I read for pleasure. A Picture of Dorian Gray is a good book, but I'm not sure I want to recommend it to very young people, because they might understand that a life without control is worth living.

That's correct. I have not read the book but surely does sound exciting to try it out. The idea that our thoughts and decisions really shape our future is correct. If that did not happen, none of us would be able to self reflect and change for the better .
