I think Gatsby's determination and ambition makes him great but his character is his flaw. He is an ambitious man that had contradictions in his character.

I loved reading "the great Gatsby" during my high school days. I have read it for the fourth time time. I admire Gatsby's greatness, generosity but I dislike the fact that Gatsby's character was his Major setback.

Gatsby character is designed to be very perfect with no flaws although all of that is a false and other admiring his lifestyle.

I was impressed by Gatsby's character but the twist about everything is what I don't like. Gatsby is a commendable character and also uncommendable sometimes.

I have never read it and appreciate the spoiler alert. I'd love to give it a try as it has caused so much fuss and discussion.

I re-read The Great Gatsby last year, and it was just as captivating the second time! Gatsby’s charm is absolutely magnetic—his mystery and obsession with the past make him such a fascinating character. The drama, the glamour, and the heartbreak hit differently on a reread. Definitely a classic that never gets old!
