I know that maybe a lot of people have watched the movie but I recently read the book and I loved it so much that I read it in a day and a1/2. I wasn't aware that there was a series. These books are written by Alice Walker and three is so much mystery and excitement. I have learned a lot about history that I didn't know so I will have to read books 2 and 3. I really enjoyed this book but the books most of the time are better than the movie.
