Hansel and Gretel

all children's stories have a hidden meaning or lesson to tell. a warning that is sugar coated so that children at a young age will be compelled to listen. it shows sibling love and care for one another; it requires one to quick thinking under doubtful situations and exacts bravery at the very moment. it teaches children to be aware of the people and surroundings, reminds them that not all with angelic faces and candies have good intentions, learn to be intuitive and courage at perilous moments, all at a young age through fairy tales.

I never get why did hansel and Gretal parents leave them. Was it because they were naughty or in other circumstances.

The original fairy tales were meant to scare children into behaving. Over time, they've transitioned into more happily-ever-after types.

We are always told to look after each other when we were kids. Hansel and Gretel had each other's back which made them successful in their quest to save those children. this is a very wonderful book.

I love this story so much. It's amazing how they can turn such a terror movie into a kids movie. Wow

This was a very interesting story and as a child it also didn't scare me, but I also didn't quite get the story of not trusting strangers, until I was older. Then the story's message is very clear and that's when it gets scary!

I found no negatives in this book. There are difficult words to understand, but as I said, the author has defined them the first time they are used and then again in the glossary. Sometimes, I forgot them and had to refer to their references, but I consider that a personal problem and not a negative aspect of the book. The story's ending came as a complete surprise, but I should have seen it coming.

I've watched this film. Its book existed, I had no idea. I have no problem watching this movie over and again. I really like it even though some parts appeared so horrible.

My love for this story was greatly amplified once I watched a parody of it on the Cartoon Network show called The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy with a slight twist. It gave me chills and I loved every second of it. Another fantastic childhood story.

I think fairy tales like these are very effective in teaching children important things like stranger danger. Interestingly, many fairy tales were written, initially, for adults and not for children. Little Red Riding Hood was, for example, used to teach young women to beware of men who might seem charming at first, but who, if given the chance, would devour them. I think fairy tales have been pushed aside as literature for very young kids for far too long. I think adults too need to revisit these tales and try to read them with fresh eyes, so that they'll reveal to us things or lessons which we may have missed as children.

Hansel and Gretel is a pretty scary fairy tale filled with adventures and morals, one of the lessons i learnt from the book as a kid is not to accept gift or trust strangers i really loved this story.

Wow... I didn't know I would see something about this book. The movie was what piqued my interest to search for the book. It was absolutely amazing.
