Has anyone else read and then re-read this book? Has anyone used the book for meditation? Any thoughts on this work?

I discovered Gibran a long time ago ... I love his writings but meditation is not my thing, I do think over a lot of what he wrote & regularly reread The Prophet or parts of it.
The Prophet is watching from my shelf as I write

I like Kahlil Gibran's inspirational prose but I much prefer the romanticism of "The Rubáiyát Of Omar Khayyám" translated by Edward FitzGerald. I've been given some valuable volumes over the years with beautiful illustrations.

i just bought, the complete works of kahlil gibran. I love his poetry. The prophet for me was a compilation of some truly magnificent individual quotes. One of my favorite is , about marriage "let there be spaces in our togetherness, let the winds of heaven dance between us". Though I am not really into spirituality or anything, his work definitely gives me food for thought.

I received the book as a gift from a friend when I was sixteen and have bought several copies as gifts since that time. The book is filled with timeless wisdom and is easily digestible.

I read it twenty+ years ago, and had forgotten. It is well written, and timely. I'm sure that some of it became part of my consciousness.

A fantastic series of beautifully written prose. I personally love the part on marriage, and often give people a copy of it when they get married!

Yes, a dear friend gave me a copy of this book when I was a student, too. I enjoyed it so much, and I too feel like some of it stuck fast.

Yes, this book hit me like a train when I was younger, and I've kept a copy of it ever since. It's written so beautifully on some important life topics, I can't help but feel a little more hopeful after reading it.

This is one I could not get into, in spite of my fondness for meditation.

The Prophet is one of my all-time favorites books---if not my number one favorite book. The first time I read it, it just pulled at my heart strings and I became deeply connected to it. Gibran's words are so effortlessly beautiful and deep that I could probably read this particular book once a week---that's how much I love it. I also have been looking into reading some of his other works but have not decided which, but I look forward to it.

I had not tried this one before, but now that you've reminded me of it - especially in relation to meditation - I'm going to look into it.

Besides the prophet, what Kahlil Gibran poetry or writing is good? I loved The Prophet and am curious about his other writing...
