I love The Jungle Book. I even named one of my cats Bagheera because he was solid black and I knew he was going to be enormous. He already weighed six pounds at the tender age of four months and eventually reached an adult weight of 17 pounds.

I enjoy both the stories and the poems. "The Law of the Jungle," which was supposedly recited by Baloo, explains the rules that the animals are supposed to live by.

More interesting than the story of Mowgli is the true story of the boy who inspired the character of Mowgli! You should look it up. It might give you a different perspective on the story

This book is on my bookshelf next to other "favorite and easy to find again" space. I read it for the first time as a teenager, and was in the world that Kipling drew immediately. I followed the main character through all the jungle trails, and understood why it was important to have correct direction in such a world. My adult perspective was having Kipling as one of the authors that I researched and followed, and was very understanding of his presentation of the world presented in the book. I have read this book to my children, and grandchildren, on many sleepovers and no TV nights, and they also enjoyed it. We are all very fortunate to have this author's world opened to us.

I agree on you with the book. The movie I liked better and found was a better plot.

jungle book I have seen this in the movie, but I was just done reading now and in spite, the baby boy grew up in the jungle together with different kinds of animals ad also his sort of language is like also animals sign language. But in spite of that one certain animal shows how much love the boy. Even though that one day that boy must go back to the natural environment of the people and the real family, so that they lived happily after, in short, human beings and animals have the same feelings in terms of love action and take care of someone on life.

I've seen the film, and it appears to be fairly good overall. I'm thinking about checking out the book as well.

I don't agree with you calling the jungle book overrated because some people do not really high rate that book. It would be a good read for just fun adventure stories.
