I have several friends who think this is Orwell's best work, but I can't entirely agree. For me, 1984 is always going to be number one.

Animal farm is a great book. The symbolism that Orwell uses to write about the Russian Revolution is amazing and probably one of the most illustrative fictional descriptions of a real live event that I have ever read.

I enjoyed this book on so many levels, the first being an animal lover. It depicts the character of most animals correctly and it accurately shows the situation of some countries of the world. I also wish that the story should be a lesson to most countries.

The power transformation of the pigs in this novel is something that I wouldn't forget despite being long since I read this book. This book was easily one of my best classical while I was growing up.

Animal Farm is a brilliantly written social commentary. One reads the story of how a certain group of animals puts themselves in charge through slow and systematized segregation. It is deeply shocking and disheartening reading how the animals are treated unfairly, but the realization that this is precisely how our own society operates delivers the final blow. I highly recommend it.
All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.

Animal farm symbolically refers to the human world who relate on different levels- the haves and the have nots. It is a foreshadow to what is happeningt
today in several countries. The coups witnessed reflect when the animals had one voice and decided to fight against the oppression in the farm. It's a book I recommend to all leaders to listen to the cry of the masses and solve the problems:increased food prices as witnessed at the shop in the farm, hunger, little pay....

I read this book very young and so a lot of the political undertones and their representation of our society were lost on me. Rediscovering the book now, I can greatly appreciate the reality of the concepts of power and politics and people relations that were shown in the book.

It's strange how we were given this as a rapid book, along side our core syllabus when we were only in the 8th grade. Obviously, many important themes flew right by us, and school education in India isn't the best at divulging into deep literature at the hurry of finishing the syllabus. Today, as I open Animal Farm for my 5th read, I'm still astounded by the book's timelessness. It does depend on your age though, and I'm sure an eighth grader won't find this line as staunching as reality does--
"The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.” - Animal Farm

Animal farm is a story that depicts our present government. The phrase" all animals are equal but some animal are equal than the other", it refers to the rich and the poor. I so much like this book.

This is an outstanding book that manages to elaborate on the very complex issue of the politics of communism in understandable symbols of animals. It creates revolution as a book!
