Sherlock any time, any day. His personality wasn't just smart, it was also entertaining.

This is a tricky question. I have read all of the Sherlock Holmes stories but only a few Poirot novels. I think I would have to say, Sherlock Holmes. His powers of deduction and the uniqueness of the cases are fascinating. His relationship with Watson is amazing, to be honest, I think that Watson needs a medal. Whereas Poirot is somewhat a lone wolf. I can never work out who has committed the crime in either of the detectives' works.

I always saw and read more about Sherlock Holmes than Poirot. Therefore, it's not a fair fight. Sherlock Holmes is just intriguing and an amazing read that I recommend to anyone.

I am really on the fence on this. I love both of them but if i really need to pick then it should be Poirot he is more of a gentleman which suits my personality.

I think Poirot is much more exciting! Sherlock has such a personality that can be great but also a bit much.

I will choose Sherlock Holmes but I want to watch it better than reading. I tried to read it but I don't like Conan Doyle's style of writing. I watched the BBC Series on Netflix of Sherlock Holmes. It's an absolute stunner.

I think I prefer Poirot in the books, maybe Sherlock in the films (don’t misunderstand, David Suchet was amazing, but Downey Jr and Cumberbatch have much more dynamism as they are younger and the films/series are more recent)

Hercule Poirot is my all-time favorite. With his glorious mustache and quirky mannerisms, I found him an intelligent and likable character. Agatha Christie's books and movies have always been a comfortable place to unwind and destress. Sorry, Sherlock. You are amazing but Poirot wins for me!

Sherlock Holmes, created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, is a master of deduction and observation. He is often described as a loner and has a reputation for being eccentric and unpredictable. In his cases, he relies heavily on his powers of logic and observation to solve complex mysteries, often using science and forensic evidence to piece together the clues.

Hercule Poirot, created by Agatha Christie, is a Belgian detective who is known for his meticulous attention to detail and methodical approach. He is characterized by his dapper appearance, sharp mind, and witty personality. Unlike Sherlock Holmes, Poirot often relies on psychology and intuition to solve cases, and his investigations often involve interviewing suspects and analyzing their behavior.

The post concludes by noting that both characters have become cultural icons and have influenced the detective genre in significant ways. While Sherlock Holmes is a symbol of logical reasoning and deduction, Poirot represents a more nuanced and psychological approach to solving mysteries. Ultimately, both characters offer readers an engaging and entertaining journey into the world of crime-solving and detective work.

That's a tough one as, maybe my top 2 favorite detectives. Loved the Poirot series although the earlier ones were better.
Sherlock just edges it for me.

Love them both. However, I am more on the Sherlock side due to his interesting detective methods.
