I like to read everything. Of course classic books are interesting. But sometimes I need a lighter reading, or with simpler language. For example, among the modern books that I like, there is the entire Percy Jackson saga. That saga has a lot of information based on mythology, and I think they are perfect for bringing a new audience closer to a more cultured world.

Of course classics. If you are referring to modern as in trashy bestsellers, then I doubt that that is even considered real literature.

I love reading classics, the stories are way better than modern books. but I love the modern contemporary setting more, I can't take any more of the slow carriage days and no phone days. it feels like it takes years for the plot to move forward. I wish we had the level of the plot as the classic era but set in modern times. the plots nowadays are done to death and the execution is very bad.

I would always go for something that have stood the test of time and didn't fade. Modern books can be good but classics are always better.

I absolutely agree. Jane Austen's books didn't become popular until after she died. Some books that are considered modern now will eventually become classics.

I would always choose Classic. If a modern book is good I even go ahead to call it a classic.

Both are beautiful genera. One thing i love about classic is how it stands through time. I can read a classic book in 50yrs time and it would seem as do it was published recently. It never gets old.

I'll pick the classic books. There's something about classics which we can never find in modern books.

Almost every book from Classic literature. But I have a selective choice from modern literature as it depends upon the writer and the way of their storytelling. Nowadays, there is so much diversity and thoughts are scattered in an ambiguous way. In old times, there were specific set of rules, themes and style which made the writing more worthy of reading.
