This book taught me to appreciate Dickens, whom I previously only knew by reputation. I still haven’t read many of his books, but A Tale of Two Cities is truly epic. The background is deep and dark, but it gets in close to a smaller story (or stories, I suppose) to find hope and beauty among pain and trouble. It’s all so very dramatic but not melodramatic. It’s one of my favorite books.

One of the books in high school that I still remember quite vividly. Most of the students in my class seemed to not enjoy it, but I'm glad to hear that there are others out there who appreciate its quality and test of time. The ending got me bad.

I can clearly remember reading this book in secondary school. Being a literature student I loved reading Shakespeare and other authors. I will like to read the book again.
