I went into this book with the mindset that I would be enjoying a simple children's novel. However, I was wildly off course with this mindset and found myself thinking hard and re-reading paragraphs to figure out exactly what was going on with this storyline. However, I think that became my demise in the end because the more I tried to find the logic in the story, the more confused I became. If read with the open imagination of a child, this book can be a fascinating story of fantasy, science fiction, and wonder... granted, the child would need to have a high reading level to handle some of these complex words!

This book was very ahead of its time when it was written and is still a unique work of fiction today. I think it has lost a lot of popularity simply because the minds of children have developed and embraced other books that are more relatable to them and less dated. However, I think it was a solid entry on this list and should be experienced at least once in a lifetime.
