I've read Oliver Twist and it's one of the few classics with a happy ending. I loved the book.

I read Oliver Twist when I was still young. I liked the storyline and I don't pass on any opportunity to read it again. My favourite part was when he went to ask for more food. His courage was amazing, even the big boys could not do what he did.

I love Oliver Twist. I have read the book a couple of times years ago and I still found the story enduring. Definitely a favorite. We even adopted the expression "Oliver wants some more" from the book as part of our pranks during games as kids.

When I was a child they read it to me once. The problem was that I wanted to go out and play and I didn't pay much attention to the readings. Until I was a little older I read it on my own. That's why I think that, even if it's a children's book, you have to take into account the child's mind before recommending it.

Oliver twist is not merely the story of an orphan. It actually reveals the social and economic scenario of England in times when it was ruling several continents. It tells how goodness flourished under dark shadows of social evils. In seventeenth century england perhaps, there existed the heinous organized illegal businesses, like those of chimney sweep and pick pockets exploiting children especially. It is worth to be appreciated that visionary writers like Charles Dickens existed during that period. The happy ending, the dream of Dickens later became reality. But.... Here in subcontinent, despite passage of almost three centuries, the society is struggling against similar problems mentioned in the story of Oliver twist.

:D one of the first books I ever read...Charles Dickens certainly knows how to melt his readers. you feel empathetic for the little boy and you are filled with hope for a happy ending throughout the book.... A classic choice.
