Atlas shrugged - hard?

How hard is atlas shrugged to read? I've read war and peace and the divine comedy as well as many other classics. I was thinking of atlas shrugged as my next big endeavor but I've heard many people say it was very challenging. Is it harder or easier than the books I listed above?
