Night by Elie Wiesel is very short, but amazing. It's not an easy read as it chronicles his experience in Nazi concentration camp.

Along the same lines: Diary of Anne Franck. Nowhere near as graphic, but still very moving. describes the time her family spent in hiding from the Nazis.

Of Mice and Men is one of my all-time favorites.

The Prophet by Kahil Gibran is short, but sometimes very dense. Still even a cursory reading exposes you to beautiful poetry and moving insights into life.

Heart of Darkness by Conrad is amazing. His short story "Open Boat" was recommended above. If you read that first, you'll have an idea of whether you like his writing.

The Green Mile by Stephen King, may not be a "classic" but it should be. Describes life on death row with compassion and insight.

I’d say the great gatsby, the old man and the sea, of mice and men, catcher in the rye and also the outsiders is a great read plus it’s fairly short.

I have heard some people say Old Man and the Sea is a boring book and not much happens but I think those people are wrong! It is a short easy read and the commentary and theories out there are just as fun to read through.

mice and men is very short and simple, very easy for fast reader's and quiet interesting

Harry Porter is fairly short and interesting.

I agreed with Catcher in The Rye, it reads fairly quickly as well

The Odyssey by Homer

I would suggest reading either "Animal Farm" by George Orwell or "Old Man and the Sea" by Earnest Hemingway. Both of the books are about 100-120 pages.

I highly recommend The Picture of Dorian Gray by excellent Oscar Wilde ! It's a wonderful gothic tale written is beautiful language

Giovanni's room is a wonderful book to read that isn't very long or thick

To Kill a Mockingbird is a classic American novel. Hope you enjoy it.
