It seems like some people prefer Austen or Bronte books.

Do you prefer specific books from each or just one author over all? Any particular reason?

I prefer specific books. It is because it gives me focus on what I really need

I prefer Austen because I think Bronte's novels are much darker and I need to be in a certain mood to read them.

I like the Bronte novels, especially Jane Eyre. But I have never read Austen because I thought the Pride and Prejudice movie was annoying and I didn't like the characters. Maybe if I tried the book, I might feel differently. Also some people have told me Sense and Sensibility is better. I think the Bronte style is more my taste though.

I love the Bronte sisters, so I think I am biased because of that. I always think about how if they knew that all three of them ended up with classics still read today, they would be shocked! Especially Anne...

Wuthering Heights is one of my all-time favorite books! I have yet to find a GOOD film adaptation (the 2011 version was quite bad and the one prior to that with Tom Hardy... well, it introduced me to Tom Hardy and I am thankful for that).

I have tried to read a few books by Jane Austen, but it doesn't seem quite my style. I think it is because I am too enamoured by Wuthering Heights and how awful the characters are to one another and how they deserve one another...

Bronte is on my list but I still have yet to pick up a book by them. I have read Austen's Pride and Prejudice and enjoyed it. I have quite a few books by both on my shelf that I need to read.

I believe it depends on the book and the mood I am in. Having said that, Bronte's 'Wuthering Heights' and Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' are two of my all time favourites.

I would have to choose the Bronte sisters as I love more of their books but Jane Austen is also wonderful.

I’m also not a fan of Pride and Prejudice but I highly recommend Emma as one of Austen’s better novels.

I love Jane Eyre, but I must say that I prefer Austen because I just could not read the other Bronte's books.
