This month we will be discussing books that are based on holidays celebrated in March. As mentioned in the book discussion topic, there are quite a bit of holidays this month.

Suggesting March holidays was, but wasn't my idea in the first place - a member of OBC wanted to know what people thought of Finnish literature. I've only read (that I know of!) one book by one Finnish writer. So, when I saw this, I thought about St. Urho's Day (a Finnish-American thing) which is celebrated in March. There are enough holidays in probably any month that one could fit any genre in somewhere! Hopefully it all works out!

For Multiple Personality Day, I could recommend Sybil by Flora Schreiber.

For International Women's Day, I could recommend The Vindication of the Rights of Woman by Mary Wollstonecraft.

For Palm Sunday (or not), I could recommend Kurt Vonnegut's Palm Sunday. I'm not sure if I read that particular book by Vonnegut, or what it is has to do with Palm Sunday, if anything, but I've read many of his books and I've liked them all. Or, continuing on the silly line, Vonnegut also wrote Breakfast of Champions which was later made into a film starring Bruce Willis. That could work for National Cereal Day!

For National Doctor's Day on March 30th i would recommend reading The Eye Of The Storm by Yusuf K. Dawood. This is a really inspiring story featuring Njoroge Maina (alias Joe Maina). It highlights the challenges doctors face on their line of duty.

I would think that would the OBC book Pop's count for mom and pop business day?

Also, I haven't read the whole book yet, but based on what I have read, I could recommend The Greatest Lies in History: Spin, doublespeak, buck-passing, and official cover-ups that shaped the world by Alexander Canduci.

What about M.A.S.H. for a medical-related day?
