Inasmuch as I understand the authors point of view, I do not think that a good leader only inspires his followers. They can make mistakes if they are only inspires. Rather, a good leader should both inspire and guide his followers to the right path.

Guidance and inspiration go hand in hand to make up effective leadership. You must lead by example and provide guidance for others to follow.

Yes, I completely agree. I can't teach you how to fish while also telling you how to eat your catch. You should be able to do both because if I'm not there one day, who should you look for? As a result, every leader should inspire rather than instruct.

I believe what the author meant is that shouldn't impose his ideas on how followers, rather they should be inspired by his actions and ways to follow suit in them and be a success. A leader should be there to guide not to dictate.

No doubt, a good leader should inspire their followers but saying that they shouldn't guide them is something I don't agree to. Guiding is part and parcel of being a leader, there's no changing that.

Guidance and inspiration go hand in hand, and I believe it is appropriate for a leader to both inspire and guide their people. Leaders should think of both as essential because Jesus guided his followers on the right path while also offering them inspiration.

I can see your point. However, I have to disagree. Jesus is the best leader in hostory. He inspired and guided his followers. I believe that a good leader should aim to do both. It is essential as they both work hand in hand.

I agree in someway, as I believe if a leader inspires his team or subordinates, they would be better off than just guiding them, though at some point they will need to be guided.

I disagree. I believe a good leader should guide and inspire their followers. So whenever they are going astray they can be corrected.

I disagree. Leadership is a very broad concept and comes in different forms and all the listed above are qualities of a good leadership, including inspiration.

A good leaders should simultaneously guide and inspire and not either or. Picking one over the other would be a misfit. Our religious icons or hero had those qualities that inspired as well as guided the followers. Followers should not be told what to do as they have their own thinking capacities and qualities they can harness for their personal development. Leaders should only play the role and put them in the right directions.

Yes, I believe the author is correct. Your success is not due to anyone. You are meant to go it alone for everything you want to do. A leader's sole purpose is to direct you.

I believe a good leader should guide and inspire the followers but must not guide only. If the life of the leader is not inspiring that means he is not practicing what he preaches. This leads to double standards and he may lose his followership over time. Guidance and inspiration must be in sync to make leadership more meaningful.

A leader must inspire others, but they also need to lead and provide guidance. Being a leader has a lot of responsibility, and convincing others to follow you requires a lot of effort. Inspiration and direction should go hand in hand because of this.
