I am not offended by the scriptures in the book so I would say that the author did more of coaching than preaching in the book. But, people of other faith and belief would see the author as a preacher rather than a coach with the Bible verses in the book.

Since my line of work inevitably involves dealing with people of various levels of religion, many of the components of effective coaching are applicable in on-the-job training. However, many people do not receive coaching and instead simply view this information as a notion and pathway.

I don't think that if you take away the reference to the scripturesl, the book would be devalued. The quality of the message outweighs where it comes from.

No it is not. Notwithstanding, I would agree with you that the book was more of preaching than coaching.

For me the book was more of coaching though the preaching was also there. But coaching is most effective for a book like this.

I guess it's a mixture of both preaching and coaching because the book is from a perspective of a Christian and can also be a guide to a non believer.

The religious aspect of the book was a no-no for me and i found it very distracting. The author should separate scriptures from personal development even if he likes to make reference to the bible, it has to be minimal. I was lost and found severally while reading the book and would not be too fast to recommend it as due to the copiously inclusion of scripture, it was not a great read for me.

Both are very much necessary but coaching is more preferable because it involves action than just words.

I do not like the scriptural aspect of the book as it made it seem like a religious book and a preacher breathing down their subjective analysis of the bible to readers. Taking away the references to scripture in the book will in no way devalue the book but will give it a more universal outlook than now. Its best to write a motivational book with biblical references just to validate the book with the word of God than to preach in a motivational book. That was a turn off for me as i struggled to read the book

Today's reality is coaching, especially if the lesson is scientific. That tool that will help us bring about the transformation in others is coaching.

I believe the book was created with a certain audience in mind, thus I don't think it can be condemned for being preachy because I was part of the audience and I found the book to be enjoyable. The coaching component was an excellent addition that was also very beneficial.

The author aimed to support the majority of his ideas with biblical doctrines and texts, but I believe he overlooked the possibility that his work would be read by those outside the Christian society to which he belonged, which detracted from the book's overall message.
