The scripture gave the book a lot of value and without that, the book's value depriciate. The book had its own audience and it was more of coaching.

I saw it as preaching not coaching as well.

It is more of coaching than preaching because of practical exciserices and the engaging methods of conversation used in the book.

On this, I do agree that the book would be significantly devalued without the scriptural aspects. Although not to the point that it would cease to exist altogether😂

The book does have some gems for everyone. But the bulk of it (about 60-70%) is based on scripture.

The author's intention, in my opinion, was to support the majority of his beliefs and strategies with biblical principles and texts, but I believe he failed to take into account the possibility that his work might be read by people who were not just members of the Christian community to which he belonged, which I believe detracted from the book's overall message.

I agree this book falls into the preaching category. Personally i gained a lot from it. If reader can be more open minded while reading this wont be much of an issue.

Although this book was interesting and engaging, I agree with you that it was preachy but I don't see it as a bad thing.

Today's reality is coaching, especially if the lesson is scientific. If not, preaching might be helpful. The tool that will help us actually bring about the transformation in others is coaching.

Mindful Wordsmith wrote: 15 Jun 2021, 02:15 The author being a practicing Christian has written this book based on his experiences and beliefs. Taking away the references to Jesus and Bible will take away the honesty and the sincerity with which the author has written the book. As a non-Christian, I did find applying some principles and advice as unfeasible for myself because I grew up with different habits and mores than the author. But I can also understand why the author included the learnings from his faith. It's a part of him and will always reflect in his writings.
You are right though! I had a different point of view, but after seeing your comment, I got to realize that you can’t separate a man from his faith. It will surely reflect in whatever they do.

As a Christian, I actually totally enjoyed and learned from reading this book. I, however, agree that these aspects limited the audience of a book I think would have been beneficial for many more.

Preaching. If I advise someone to do anything or even just make a suggestion, I won't be able to help them until I've really done it myself, practiced it, and gained experience. That's why they say you should preach what you do.

The author wrote everything in connection to the Bible. The preaching part was more preferable to me. If the Bible or religious aspects of this book is eliminated, I don't think there will be much value in the book again.

For me, coaching is more because it is the act of doing instantly what you are told.
