Pictures at the end or in context?

Dr. Regis includes pages of pictures at the end of the book, with captions explaining the picture. Do you prefer the way she did this, at the end of the book? Or would you prefer the pictures to be in place in the story? For me, I would prefer them to be in the story when she is talking about a particular incident, instead of all lumped together at the end.

I agree with you on this. The pictures seem to be out of context due to where it was placed.

What an interesting visual presentation. I liked the way it was presented and did not object to the way it was laid out. With the graphics and explanations at the conclusion, it felt to me like a summation of the book. I find it easier to read without getting sidetracked when there are things I need to look at towards the conclusion, such as images and other visual elements.

In my opinion, I would prefer the piece if the picture were part of the storyline. Although I believe her reasons for including this at the end were to avoid confusion and make reading fluent.

Both pictures at the begining of the book and at the end each has a unique twist it add to the book. As for Dr Regis, putting pictures at the end of the book made me fill relieved and put to my rememberance what I've learned so far in the book.

I also would have preferred the pictures being in text than at the end of the book. But however brushing over them after reading the book was just a fresh air, as you be recalling things you've read as you look.

I would have preferred the pictures right there in the story. That way, the readers won’t feel lost. We have people with short term memo who wouldn’t remember how to correlate what they had read with the picture.

I would have preferred having pictures in the context. It makes reading fun. Having it at the end felt like a photo album addition.

I'm used to pictured being at the end of the book so I don't really see anything wrong with it. It's actually organized too. Besides, the fact that she put descriptions under the picture should be enough, my memory would bring back what happened while she took that picture. Having pictures in between pages might be distracting.

The photographs at the end of the book were a pleasant surprise for me and a fitting way to end the book. I believe that including pictures with the text would have been quite distracting because some of them depicted the author's illness at the time.
