People murder for the most stupid reason. Therefore I can easily believe that Gary from the Black Line did it just because he was rejected.

I wouldn’t call Gary pathetic! I see it more as frustrated and somewhat angry. I do think he needed to “step up”, so to speak and take responsibility for his actions though, no matter what the situation. His dark-side was not excusable but I would not go as far as labeling him as pathetic. Just my personal opinion

I think it's because of the mental problem but it also can be because of the humilliation he felt when he gets rejected by his loved ones because When you get rejected by someone, it can drive your mental and your mind will become much worse.

Gary in the black line was in my opinion just a vessel for the author’s antagonist. He was nothing like the rest, so different he might as well not be Gary. I hope what drives the Gary from the other is punishment for black line Gary.

I think it is the hatred he felt from the rejection he suffered from her. I believe he did not handle the rejection well which is expected from a guy who suffers from physical disability; an ailment he does not like himself for in the first place.
