"the unfairness of it all" is probably what would bother me so much. Just reading your review, I knew this would be the type of book that would continue to bother me well after reading it. It sounds too disheartening for me

It's really unfortunate that children have to go through all this rubbish, what I meant was they never asked to be born, and adults needs to be more responsible. It's so sad to see that people can be so twisted minded as this. Thank you for bringing out the importance of check the foster care system through your review!

The author's case was quite unusual - her mother took care of her until she was 2 but abandoned her in desperate circumstances. She did well to come back from all that she went through, though. Thanks for your comment!

True, true! But not every kid would bounce back! When children are brought under these circumstances they would want others to feel the same (not everyone). This cycle won't break. That's why we have so many damaged people in this society. Thank you for your feedback!

I can’t read enough memoirs. We all go through horrors of different magnitude and it’s so interesting to see how others fair. Your review was concise, well written, and descriptive. If the only major issues with the book are grammatical and punctuation, I can deal. It really does a great injustice to otherwise fantastic reads. I look forward to reading about Paris.
