The author's case was quite unusual - her mother took care of her until she was 2 but abandoned her in desperate circumstances. She did well to come back from all that she went through, though. True, true! But not every kid would bounce back! When children are brought under these circumstances they would want others to feel the same (not everyone). This cycle won't break. That's why we have so many damaged people in this society.
