"Rasputin and The Jews: A Reversal of History"

Post by MrsDavid »

"Rasputin and The Jews: A Reversal of History", by Delin Colon, is a non-fiction account debunking the myths surrounding Rasputin. It details how Rasputin was vilified by the antisemitic Russian nobility (and clergy, bureaucracy, etc.) for adamantly advocating equal rights for the oppressed Russian Jews. While this aspect of Rasputin is grudgingly and only briefly mentioned in most biographies of him, usually with derision but sometimes with admiration, no other book has so specifically detailed the actual incidents of Rasputin's aid to the poor, the peasants and the Jews. Russia's antisemitism was so deeply ingrained that aid to Jews was considered treasonous. This sparked the smear campaign to discredit Rasputin.
